Food is my best friend and my worst enemy.  I love food, I LOVE dessert, and all too often I find myself indulging only to 5 minutes after said indulging is completed feel horribly guilty and like I need to go burn it all off.  Which, inevitably, is what happens.

It's not a good thing.

For quite a while now I've wanted to rid myself of this exercise compulsion, but I've yet to accomplish this goal.  In many ways I think I've gotten better, but there is still a lot of room for improvement.

I think that part of the blame is having grown up in the ballet world from the time I was 4.  In hindsight I recognize just how much being a part of that world screwed up my psyche.  It makes me wonder: do I really want to put my future daughter (assuming I have one) in ballet?  The answer to that question used to be an obvious YES!  But lately, I've started to second guess that answer.  While I would love for a daughter of mine to experience the joy of dance, of movement, and of performing, I certainly don't want her to experience the pain and confusion that comes with it.

While that was a slight jump from the food topic that is this new page, it still relates.  My thought is for this page to be devoted to foods that I love and to pay tribute to other bloggers who also post about food.  Here's to expanding this blog and trying new things!
