It's June 29th

It is June 29, 2011.  In exactly one year, at this time, I will be married to the love of my life.

Not much else I can say about that.

I love you Mat.

And We are Done

I got all my signatures.  I turned in my grades.  I waited a bit.  I turned in my keys.

I drove away.

I will not be back until August 16th.  At the earliest.

Oh sweet freedom!

Only Finals are Left!

Today was the last official day of classes.  I AM ECSTATIC.  I have actual energy from somewhere and for the very first time, after the work day was over, could actually see my freedom.

Tomorrow is finals for periods 1 and 2, Thursday is 3 and 4 but 3 is my prep, and Friday is 5 and 6.  I told my 5th period kids to be nice to me on Friday morning because I'll be tired from having chaperoned grad nite, so we'll see if that happens (doubtful-I'm sure they'll be the most difficult they've ever been because that would just be FATE on the last day I'll ever have all of them in my classroom at one time).

Friday night, oh Friday night...I cannot wait.

Monday's work day will be quite easy.  I have a feeling I don't have to get there so early, and I'm hoping that I'll get to leave early because I will have done grad nite.  *fingers crossed*

Less than a week.  *le sigh*

It's the Last Week

FINALLY.  Honestly, I never thought I'd get to this point.  The last few days (more like week.  or weeks.  or months) have been rather difficult.  I've had several breakdowns and I swear I sunk into a mini depression for a couple days.  No bueno.  Today was better, probably because I got a second night of lots of sleep and had a massage.

This week consists of:

  • Monday and Tuesday of regular school days which will be longish/boringish because we will just be reviewing for finals
  • A doctor appointment on Monday to hopefully get a new prescription to clear up my skin once and for all
  • At least 2 ballet classes...I hope
  • Finals start on Wednesday which means 3 days in a row of school ending at 12:30
  • Chaperoning grad nite on Thursday night which means I'll be up from 5 am on Thursday until I go to bed on Friday.  Good times!  Should be interesting...
  • Tying up all the loose ends in my classroom, figuring out what to take home, etc etc etc.
My last official work day is next Monday the 20th, which will consist of turning in grades, staff breakfast, getting all the last signatures from administrators and such, and turning in my keys and GOING HOME!!!

One week.  That's it.  I can do it, right???

10 days

10 work days.  9 school days.

It's really almost over.  Tomorrow and Wednesday I'll be at the district office working on pacing guides for Algebra 2, and then it will be Thursday.  Wednesday night I'm seeing Bridesmaids with Steph (and eating some awesome snackage that will be snuck in) and Thursday night I'm taking Amanda out to dinner to celebrate the end of finals.

I decided to chaperone grad nite at Disneyland.  At first I didn't want to, but then I figured, why not?  When else will I be able (and willing) to do something crazy like stay up all night at Disneyland with teenagers?  The tough part will be getting back to school around 6 am and then having to give my last two finals on Friday.  But, going to grad nite means we don't have to work graduation so I plan to go home and collapse.  I actually think it will be kind of fun in a weird, twisted way.  We also get fed for free, so I can't complain about that.

The next couple of weeks will not allow for much time to myself or time with Mat, so I'll just have to keep my sights set on Monday the 20th after our duty day is over.  That day won't be a big deal because it's a faculty breakfast, finish prepping my room for summer, etc.  No kids.  :)

Exactly 2 weeks from right now I will be celebrating a successful official first year of teaching!
